Breeding Turtles
Isn’t it such a joyous feeling when you see your pet give birth and have little babies all over the place? Well the pet turtle is no exception to this. It’s such an overwhelming feeling to see little turtle baby heads popping out of their shells and breathing in their first breath. But how are you, as the owner, supposed to make this happen? How do you make sure that these little turtle babies will come out right and well? The website http://www.turtlecareguide.net provides all you need to know about breeding.
To start things off, you will first need a pair of sexually mature turtles. It is important that the turtle you are going to breed is healthy and happy so that you can avoid baby turtles with defects. Websites such as http://www.turtlecareguide.net has more information on how to take care of your pet turtle and how to ensure that your turtle is well and ready to mate. Other than this, the turtles that are about to mate should be comfortable with their environment. So before the breeding begins, make sure that the turtle has lived in your home for at least a year so that it will develop a form of trust in its surroundings. Breeding, which usually starts in fall, must begin with the cooling of the turtles which makes breeding results better. Cooling period is usually on January of February and lasts for about 8 weeks. It is normal that the turtles will not be eating much during this time so do not force them to eat. Rather, allow them some quiet time together so that they will become comfortable with each other. Be sure that the female turtle has enough calcium and vitamin D3.

More information on this topic can be found in http://www.turtlecareguide.net which is very useful to the breeding of turtles.
