First Aid for Turtles
Turtles may seem to be cute and cuddly but they are also a lot of hard work. There may come a time when you end up ignoring your pet for a while… which is bad because they might develop sicknesses that cannot be cured easily. But with some first aid treatment and lots of TLC, your little turtle buddy will be as good as new. You can find lots of helpful ideas form http://www.turtlecareguide.net when talking about first aid for turtles.

Here are some signs that your turtle needs you from the site http://www.turtlecareguide.net:
1. Algae on your turtle
This is most likely caused by insufficient cleaning of its tank. When was the last time you checked out the filter?
2. Turtle not eating
Are you sure that what you’re giving to your turtle is what they want? Turtles have feelings too… so there may be some foods that they dislike to eat. Check out their diet every once in a while.
3. Skin wounds and rashes
When this occurs, you must take your turtle out of the water and disinfect their wounds with Betadine. If the problem doesn’t seem to desist, then seek the advice of a veterinarian as soon as possible.
4. Shell Diseases
As you may know, a turtle’s shell (with the exception of soft shell turtles) should be hard. If their shells turn out to be softer than usual, this shows that they lack calcium or vitamin D3. They can get calcium from calcium lactate and they can also get vitamin D3 from sunlight.
5. Swollen eyes
Swollen eyes on a turtle is common but is a sign of a pneumonia related problem. Poor nutrition and dirty water are one of the causes of this happening to turtles. So its best to keep their tanks clean always.
